Before choosing their final positions, test the layout with paper templates: you can move each shape and judge the balance without repeatedly adjusting the wall.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>Start with the wall and actual dimensions<\/h2>\n  <p>Identify the available area, allowing for furniture, corners, doors and switches. Then measure the width and height of each decoration. Do not rely solely on the term \u201cvinyl record\u201d: the cut-out design and silhouette also determine its visual footprint.<\/p>\n  <p>Transfer these dimensions to paper and cut out one template per piece. Label it with the design name and orientation. For an open silhouette, a few lines can represent the main shapes.<\/p>\n\n  <h2>Choose a simple layout<\/h2>\n  <ul>\n    <li><strong>A row:<\/strong> a horizontal line works well above furniture. Align the centres for a consistent rhythm, then adjust if some designs look visually heavier than others.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>A grid:<\/strong> several rows give a collection structure. Keep the visual spacing consistent and check the display from the centre of the room.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>A triangle:<\/strong> with three decorations, place one above the other two, or the reverse. This arrangement creates a focal point without requiring a large wall.<\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n\n  <div class=\"mg-note\"><h3>Calculate the size of your grid<\/h3><p>For pieces of equal width: total width = number of pieces \u00d7 width of one piece + number of gaps \u00d7 chosen spacing.<\/p><p>Example layout: three pieces measuring 30 cm with 8 cm gaps take up 3 \u00d7 30 + 2 \u00d7 8 = <strong>106 cm in width<\/strong>. In two rows with the same spacing, the display measures <strong>68 cm in height<\/strong>. Replace these figures with the actual dimensions of your designs; this example does not describe every record.<\/p><\/div><h2>Test before mounting<\/h2>\n  <p>Arrange the templates flat first. If you want to try them on the wall, use only a temporary method suitable for its finish and test it in an inconspicuous area. Step back to your usual viewpoint: the sofa, desk or doorway.<\/p>\n  <p>Photograph two layouts and compare them from the same distance. Change one thing at a time: spacing, height or the order of the designs. Leave some room around the group so each decoration remains clear.<\/p>\n\n  <p class=\"mg-note\">The template helps you plan the arrangement. It does not determine how to fix the vinyl: the mounting must suit your wall and the individual piece.
